Reciprocity is not as useful as it sounds
Priya Raghunathan
Controller, Cardinal Field

Reciprocity agreements between states let a licensed contractor skip parts of the examination in another state. That is genuinely useful and it is also narrower than most operators assume.
It typically waives an exam, not a registration. You still file, still pay, and still wait.
It usually applies to the qualifying individual, not the entity. Your company is not licensed because your qualifier is.
And it almost never touches the county layer, which is where a lot of field service work is actually gated.
